Choosing the relationships that we keep are as important (sometimes more) as the food we choose to eat. Though we tend to think about what fuels our energy levels as strictly food. While nutrition is important, there are many other aspects impacting us on a physical, emotional and spiritual level to consider. Relationships, the people we interact with most, being at the top of the list.
Take a step back and think about who you primarily surround yourself with? How do they make you feel? I think that we all have people in our lives that make us feel energized. People who make you want to be more like them because you feel so good when we're with them, and even after. I have a few people in my life, that make me I think to myself - "I need a post-it on my bathroom mirror that says be more like ____ today!" And on the flip side, there are people you step away from feeling drained and down on yourself. And of course, there are people who fall right in the middle of those feelings.
Sometimes it's not in our control who we're around 100%o of the time. The exercise here is to acknowledge those different groups of people and then choose to be around the positive group of individuals more. By being more in control of the relationships you keep in your life, the more positively fueled you will feel on an emotional and spiritual level. In turn, setting yourself up to be in a more grounded place, to be the best you, making better choices for your life, and uplifting others around you.
Much love & gratitude,
